PIN-less conference calls

Forget the hassle of PIN codes by authenticating callers based on phone numbers.

One of the painful things about traditional conference calls is having to enter a long PIN number to join. It’s even worse from your mobile phone, switching back and forth from your email or calendar app to the phone dialer to remember and punch in the numbers.

With ÜberConference we have a “PIN-less” solution. When you create your ÜberConference account, you can enter all the phone numbers you might be dialing in from (home, cell, office, etc). ÜberConference will then automatically authenticate you based on your phone number when you call from any of these numbers. So you’ll never need to enter a PIN unless you dial in from a number that is not in your profile.

Similarly, for the people you invite to conferences we will automatically add them into the conference without asking for a PIN, so long as they dial in from a number that you have for them in your address book. This is a great reason to sign in with your Google account or to upload your address book once you’ve joined ÜberConference (it makes it easy for us to identify your callers based on their caller ID).

One other case where you might want to use PINs is for instant conferences, when you haven’t scheduled a conference. In this case, you can give people your open PIN and start conferences just by dialing into your ÜberConference number. The open PIN is also helpful when you don’t know all the people that may be in the call, since it can be shared more broadly.
